A Survivor Kitten Encourages Others to Keep Hope Alive

Champ is a remarkable kitty with an impressive survivor story. He was rescued from a box of four unwanted kittens that someone had left at a gas station. Luckily, a kind person found them and brought them to Animals in Distress, a UK-based rescue group in Ipplepen.

A box was found dumped in a gas station containing four premature kittens with their umbilical cords still attached by someone who cared enough to check.

As a matter of concern, the good samaritan contacted an animal rescue team to immediately take charge of the situation. The four kittens were alive at the point of rescue, however, were already weak, sick, and almost dying. This is a result of separation from their mother too soon. They did not get enough warmth or milk, hence, a weak immune system.

Seeing their terrible condition, the rescue staff relentlessly tried their best to save them. They administered the necessary care, food, and medication to the kittens, but sadly they lost three of them to infection.

Only Champ survived – and he fought hard for his life. Of course, fate decided the course of action, as it is said, “Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.”

“Champ” is a well-deserving name for the sole survivor of the four kittens. The rescue staff were astonished by his fighting spirit. Even when all hope was lost, Champ still emerged!

He received constant care and attention from the staff, who fed him every few hours and took care of his needs. They owed him that much for holding on.

Champ grew stronger and healthier and lived up to his name. He reached a milestone when he started to eat solid food by himself. He was on his way to recovery and happiness!

Champ didn’t just grow strong physically, but also in his mind. He shows all the time that he understands the situation of other rescues around him.

Now that Champ is well and active, Champ likes to explore the shelter. He especially likes to visit the other cats who are waiting for their forever homes. These are cats who have been through a lot, just like Champ!

Champ likes to say hello to them through the glass windows. He will usually try to play with them and cheer them up, and they love his company. Champ just has a way of making them feel better and more hopeful!

After he has made his rounds, Champ curls up for a much deserved nap. He has certainly overcome many challenges in his young life and is doing his best to help others in need!

Champ’s energy is quite contagious, as everyone (including the caregivers), always notice the messages of love and hope he shows to them whenever they come across him!
