Whether you’re a hot-rod, restomod, or pro-tourer person, there’s still nothing quite like seeing an all-original classic car in absolutely pristine condition.
While many consider the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle to be the most iconic iteration of the classic muscle car, the first-generation Chevrolet Chevelle still has legions of fans who dedicate themselves to keeping their pride and joy as perfect and original as possible.
YouTuber junkcar willy has been checking out some of the finest Chevelles we have ever seen at the Coolville Car Show in Ohio and proves that the Buckeye State has more than a few true classic muscle car enthusiasts.
1966 And 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Dream Collection

Built from 1963 until 1977, the Chevrolet Chevelle has become something of a cultural icon, with it appearing (and crashing) in numerous Hollywood movies over the years.
Not all Chevelles are equal, though, and the most coveted model of all is the SS or Super Sports version. In 1966 and 1967, the SS 396 model had Chevrolet’s “turbo jet” 396 cu. in. (6.5-liter) Big Block V8 with power ranging from 325 hp all the way to 375 hp on the 1967 model
The Chevelle also came with a multitude of transmission options with the most desirable arguably being the 4-speed manual. The 1967 Chevelle SS 396 was particularly rare with only 612 sold, and junkyard willy spots a beautiful mountain-green example right out the gate.
Willy says he used to hate this color but has grown to love it over time, and it’s not hard to see why. This particular Chevelle also has a full black interior with bench seats and the 4-speed transmission – something Willy also says is now his preferred spec for the 1967 Chevelle SS.
How Much Is A 67 Chevelle Worth?
Willy then moves on to a black-on-black 1966 Chevelle SS, saying that aside from the rear lights and front grille, all the body lines on the two cars are identical.
Next to that is a beautiful marina blue 1967 Chevelle with a full blue interior. This car has bucket seats as opposed to bench seats, while also having the chrome 3-spoke steering wheel and it definitely makes a statement.
Willy then has a quick look at another black-on-black 1967 Chevelle, this time a Malibu, before checking out a stunning white 1966 Chevelle SS with a full red interior.
As with any classic muscle car, prices vary wildly from car to car. According to classic.com prices for a 1966 Chevelle average at around $55,700 while the average for a 1967 Chevelle is around $60,000. The 1966 Chevelle top sale price was a staggering $330,000, though, while the 1967 top price was $242,000.
We think it’s safe to assume that any of these examples at the Coolville show would definitely be on the higher end of that scale.
