Recently, on eBay, a person put up for sale a 1968 Dodge Charger for $ 38,000. According to this person, the Charger has been in storage since 1989, so far it has been more than 30 years. The color of time was clearly imprinted on the car when rust stains appeared deep on the fenders, floor and rear chassis.

However, this car is still considered inexpensive because according to the VIN number, this is one of 259 cars of the same age with a similar structure manufactured and assembled at the Dodge factory in Hamtramck in Michigan. This 2-door Sports Hardtop model is equipped with the original 383 high-performance V8 engine with 330 horsepower with a 4 bbl carburetor mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.

The first generation Dodge Charger was introduced in 1966 and featured a sharp two-door fastback design based on the Chrysler B. The model was redesigned for the 1968 production batch with exterior changes. including a full-width grille with hidden headlights and a “flying cylinder” rear roof.

There are four engine options for the 1968 Dodge Charger, from a 318 cid V8 with 230 hp, to a high-performance 383 with 330 hp (as the car is for sale above), and also a V8 engine option according to special order – “Special Order”.
