A blind kitten immediately clung to a gray cat when they first met and wouldn’t let anyone separate them.
Milo and AlfieNadija
Alfie the tuxedo was one of the 16 cats found abandoned in a tent and rescued by Animal Control. Weighing just one pound, he was the sickest of all.
They couldn’t save his eyes, but his life was spared after surgery. A shelter volunteer looked after him overnight, and he perked up the next day, eating well and seeking affection.
While waiting for a foster home, Alfie lay cozily on his heating bag, resting and healing his tiny body.

When a volunteer visited him, he rose from his nap and took a full-body stretch before leaning into their hand for chin scratches. His resilient spirit melted everyone’s hearts at the shelter. Hoping to give him the best chance at life, they reached out to local rescues for help.
Nadija, a volunteer for AnimalLuvr’s Dream Rescue, stepped up to foster him. “Despite already having a full house, I felt so drawn to taking him in,” Nadija shared.

Among her fosters was Milo, a gray kitten found outside alone and in need of TLC. He was a gentle soul and quickly blossomed when introduced to other kittens.
While Milo romped around with other fosters, Alfie arrived in another room nearby, trying to make sense of all the new scents and sounds.

Being blind didn’t brother Alfie in the slightest, as he navigated his world effortlessly using his other remarkable senses. Soon, he curled up in his foster mom’s arms and fell fast asleep.
“He loves to be held and spends most of his day sitting in my lap while I work, just purring away.”
They became instant friendsNadija
After a week of acclimating to his foster home, Alfie was ready to join the rest of the kittens. To everyone’s surprise, he was instantly drawn to Milo, playing and wrestling with him and following him everywhere.
Milo didn’t mind Alfie’s rough play, even with teeth and claws. He was incredibly patient with the little dynamo of a tuxedo. “It’s impressive how quickly Alfie adjusted, mapped out the room, and made new friends.”
Nadija
Despite having multiple playmates, Alfie gravitated towards Milo and wanted to be involved in everything he did.
While Milo enjoyed a serene snuggle session with his foster mom, Alfie dashed over and grabbed at Milo’s paw, urging him to play.

The little tuxedo is packed with mischief, running around the room, wreaking havoc. He tackles any toy, chirping while he does so, and is always up for a wrestling match.
Knowing that Milo used cat trees, Alfie was motivated to climb them. Before long, he was nestled snugly next to his best friend. “I’m so proud of little Alfie, who has figured out how to get up on the cat tree and safely get down.”

Milo has never met a stranger but has an extra soft spot for Alfie. He tolerates his every antic and has taught him feline etiquette and boundaries.
Alfie has become very attached to his best friend. “He only plays with Milo even though he gets along well with the rest of the fosters.”
Nadija
When Milo was at the vet’s office one Saturday, Alfie realized his absence and started “looking” for him. He paced around the room, meowing. Despite having other feline companions, he seemed to miss Milo and tried to seek him out.
“He was very happy when Milo returned.”

Since then, the two have been inseparable, napping side by side, grooming each other, and snuggling together, which often turns into a playful wrestling brawl.
Alfie is loving his life with Milo, his ride-or-die, as they continue their journey together and will never be apart.
