Cats have unique ways of showing their gratitude, whether it’s through purring, cuddling, or bringing special gifts. But the ultimate gesture of trust and appreciation is when a cat brings her kittens to you. This exact scenario unfolded for a kind man named Rizwan.
Showing up with trust
Rizwan, who runs a nonprofit dedicated to helping stray cats, saw a familiar pregnant stray cat approach his house one ordinary day. She had something in her mouth—two tiny kittens, still attached by the umbilical cord. The cat clearly trusted Rizwan enough to bring her newborns to him.
In a YouTube video, Rizwan recounted the moment, saying that he could tell the cat needed his help just by the way she looked at him. As a result, he quickly decided to help.
He gently picked up the kittens and brought them inside, carefully separating them from their umbilical cord. The mother cat watched peacefully, assured that her babies were in safe hands.
More furry surprises
After Rizwan finished, he placed the kittens next to their mother, who affectionately began to cuddle them. But then, she got up and left, leaving Rizwan bewildered. He had planned to foster the tiny family and couldn’t understand why she had suddenly left. However, a short time later, she returned, carrying another furry surprise in her mouth.
Rizwan soon realized the mom had gone to fetch her third child—a tiny white kitten. He carefully placed the new arrival next to its siblings, and the mother closely monitored every move to ensure he handled her third baby as gently as the first two. Once reassured of her baby’s safety, she briefly left again, only to return moments later with yet another kitten.
New home built on trust
This pattern continued until she had brought all her babies to Rizwan’s house. Once the family was reunited, she finally relaxed, confident in the knowledge that her kittens were in the safe hands of someone she trusted.
Rizwan, moved by his new feline friend’s trust, fed her some delicious food and helped her care for the kittens. Before settling them into their new home, he took the entire family to the vet to ensure they were all in good health.
Healthy family
The vet confirmed that the mother cat and her six kittens were in excellent health. Rizwan was ready to take them to their new home where their lives would truly begin. However, his plan didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped.
Since Rizwan was a proud foster dad of several once-stray felines, the cat overpopulation in his home overwhelmed the mom cat, who stopped feeding her kittens.
Settling a furry battle
Upon arrival, the mother cat began exploring the house, restlessly searching for a quiet and secluded spot to nestle with her family. Complicating matters, one of the resident cats, Jasmine, did not take kindly to the newcomers.
She hissed at the mother, and their confrontations escalated, further unsettling the mother and affecting her care for her kittens. Worried, Rizwan separated Jasmine to another room to prevent a furry crisis from occurring.
Making friends
On a more positive note, another resident cat, Luna, was completely in love with the kittens. She approached them immediately, sniffed them, and began grooming them as if they were her own. Witnessing this, the mother cat, perhaps feeling a twinge of jealousy, returned to her kittens and resumed feeding them. Rizwan was relieved to see his new feline friend finally settling in and feeling secure in her new environment.
Before the mother cat felt fully at ease in her new home, Rizwan and his team had to bottle-feed her kittens to ensure their survival. Now that she has overcome her initial distress, she is ready to provide the care her kittens need to grow up big, happy, and strong.
Much luck to those rescuing strays in need
With the little furry family reunited, all that’s left is to wish them all the best and to wish Rizwan much luck and happiness as he continues to rescue strays in need.
